In Secrets, Volume 16 you’ll find:
Never Enough by Cynthia Eden For the last three weeks, Abby McGill has been playing with fire. Bad-boy Jake has taught her the true meaning of desire, but she knows she has to end her relationship with him. But Jake isn’t about to let the woman he wants walk away from him.
Read an excerpt from Never Enough: Her hand shook as she reached for the lock. She closed her eyes a moment, and then opened the door. Jake stood there, glaring down at her, his jaw clenched, his hands tight fists. Abby moved forward, putting her body solidly in the doorway. “I told you not to come here.” And she had. Those words had been so hard to utter. But she’d done it. She’d ended things with Jake. His eyes, his brilliant blue eyes, shone like chips of ice. They were locked on her, their intensity sending a shiver over her. He took a quick breath and gritted, “What you told me was to fuck off, but I’m not going to do that.” He took a step forward, bringing his body inches from hers. The heat of his skin seemed to burn her, and the light scent of his cologne filled her nostrils. “You have to do it,” she said, forcing the words out and lifting her chin. “It’s over, Jake. I don’t want to see you anymore, I can’t see you—” He grabbed her, pulling her into his arms and capturing her mouth in a heated kiss. His tongue plunged past her lips, igniting a wave of desire that Abby was helpless to fight. “You want me,” he whispered, pulling back slightly. “And God knows I want you.” Her nipples pressed against her robe, and she knew that he could see them, knew that he could feel her need for him. His fingers moved, slipping under her chin and forcing her to look up, forcing her to meet his penetrating gaze. “Why would you throw away what we have? Why?”
Bunko by Sheri Gilmoore Tu Tran is forced to decide between Jack, a man, who promises to share every aspect of his life with her, or Dev, the man, who hides behind a mask and only offers night after night of erotic sex. Will she take the gamble of the dice and choose the man, who can see behind her own mask and expose her true desires?
To the reader from Sheri Gilmore: Life is but a roll of the dice. A story about the masks people use to obtain their darkest, most basic, desires – love and sex. Tu Tran has a dilemma: which man will she go home with tonight? Forced to decide between Jack, a man, who promises to share every aspect of his life with her, or Dev, the man, who hides behind a mask and only offers night after night of erotic sex. Tu is torn between what everyone tells her she wants and what she knows she truly needs. Will she take the gamble of the dice and choose the man, who can see behind her own mask and expose her true desires?
Read and excerpt from Bunko: Tu spread her legs farther apart and lifted her arms up, then across the back of her neck. She performed a slow rotation of her hips, bending over to let her head and arms dangle between her legs. The sight of a pair of male legs encased in khaki pants made her freeze. Her gaze traveled up the long legs and stopped at the crotch. She angled her head and grinned. Impressive bulge, Jack. “Uh, hey Tu.” His feet shifted. “I’ll come back when you’re through with your aerobics.” Tu knew that tone. Even with a hard-on, Jack wasn’t happy, and she had a good idea it had something to do with her cool treatment of him this morning. He’d tried to talk to her about their date the other night, first in the elevator, then again at the vending machine. Both times she’d made some excuse and changed the subject. Oh, they’d had a great time over dinner and the carriage ride. Her attraction for him had increased, but when she asked if he would come inside when he dropped her off, he had refused. In a moment of pique, she had turned her head away when he’d tried to kiss her goodnight. His warm lips had fallen on her cheek. His disappointment made her feel like a piece of used gum on the bottom of a shoe, because they’d gotten to know each other, and she liked him a lot. In fact —she bit her lip—more than a lot. She straightened. “Jack. It’s okay. Don’t leave. We need to talk.” What if he really wanted Donna? Men like Jack didn’t choose petite, Asian girls. Oh, she was okay for the occasional romp in the sheets, but when it came down to something serious, she never got to “meet the parents.” Besides the trust issue, there was Dev. On some secret level, she wanted her relationship with him to broaden. He gave her the kind of sex she’d always craved. She couldn’t tell him not to come over anymore. Besides, she never knew when he would decide to show up at her place anyway. She didn’t want to take a chance on him and Jack meeting. If they did, she’d either lose both of them, or have to choose under stress. She turned to look at Jack with his brown loafers, khaki pants, and button-down oxford shirt tucked so neatly into his belt. The all-American guy—smart, good-looking, with a good sense of humor—the kind her mom would be proud to have as a son-in-law. She just wasn’t sure she was ready to do that yet. She had the best of two worlds with Dev as her fantasy lover, and Jack as her friend. Oh, she knew he wanted to take their friendship further, but the possibility Jack wouldn’t measure up lingered in her mind. Deep down, she knew if he didn’t, she’d be disappointed, and the special connection they did share would be gone. She attempted a reassuring smile. He hesitated. A wary expression flashed across his face, but disappeared after a second to be replaced by a smile. “Sorry about earlier. I never even said ‘good morning’ before I started talking about the other night.” “I was just stretching my back. I-I must have… slept wrong… last night.” She sure as hell wasn’t going to tell him the real reason her back and butt were sore. Her cheeks grew warm, as his eyes narrowed on her face after he looked at her from head to toe. His auburn brows drew together in a frown, but he didn’t comment on what she said. She bit back a groan, hoping he didn’t think she was taunting him after her rejections. Tu sighed and rubbed her temple. This was getting complicated. “Uh, you wanted to see me?” His expression cleared to be replaced by his business mask. Not a flicker of emotion crossed his face, and Tu wondered how he could switch gears from the warm, friendly man, who joked and laughed one minute, then turn into this deadpan robot the next. She shook her head. The many faces of Eve… Tu blinked as the image of Dev’s mask surfaced and missed what Jack said. “I-I’m sorry, Jack. I didn’t hear you.” “For crying out loud, Tu, wake up.” The scowl on his face grew darker. “What’s wrong with you?” His voice sounded like a growl, and for a second Tu stared at him. He sounded a lot like Dev when he had dominated her. Her skin rose with goose bumps. Her gaze and ears focused on Jack. “I said I have a luncheon with the CEO today, and need that report completed by eleven. Is that going to be a problem for you?” “No.” She shook her head, frowning. There it was again—the way he stressed his words when he became irritated. His mannerisms were similar, too. All intense and forceful. She didn’t normally see Jack like that, because she always thought of him as the good-natured yuppie. Right now, the uptight and aggressive attitude aroused but confused her. “Good.” With his back stiff, he walked out of her cubicle and back to his office. He moved with the same animal grace, like a slow, prowl, she’d observed in Dev. The goose bumps along her arms increased. A pool of moisture formed in the crotch of her panties. “Good grief, get a grip.” She scrubbed her face and ran a hand through her hair, which she’d left long today. Dev said he liked it long, and— “Stop right there, and get your butt in gear.” She must be crazy, comparing her boss to her lover. There were no similarities. They were night and day. She needed to decide between the two men soon. This double-dating and sneaking around between men had her nerve-endings frayed to the max. Tu took one last look at Jack. The blinds were open over the glass walls of his office. He looked up and their gazes met. The shaft of awareness that arrowed through her stabbed with an alacrity that had her clutching her stomach. It was the same effect Dev held over her. She turned away. I can’t choose right this minute.
Hide and Seek by Chevon Gael Kyle DeLaurier ditches his trophy-fiance in favor of a tropical paradise full of tall, tanned, topless females. Private eye, Darcy McLeod, is on the trail of this runaway groom. Together they sizzle while playing Hide and Seek with their true identities.
Read and excerpt from Hide and Seek: After supper Darcy led Kyle out to the terrace and lighted walkway. There were other couples taking advantage of the gardens and cobblestone walkway so she didn’t feel uncomfortable being alone with him even if all he did through dinner was stare at her breasts.
"All that butter is going to sit on my hips. A good walk is just what we need."
"We? I didn’t say anything about walking. By the way, why don’t you take off those heels and let me carry them before you catch one between a cobblestone and trip."
"Good idea." They stopped and Darcy used his shoulder to balance herself while she removed her shoes.
"Here," she handed the sandals to him. "Thanks."
"Don’t thank me. I’m looking out for myself."
She stopped him. "Excuse me?" She faced him in the twilight. There was a saucy sort of grin on his face and his eyes twinkled dangerously. He was amusing himself about something and seemed very eager to share it with her. But Darcy had a feeling she was going to have to beat him with a stick to find out what it was.
He looked around first before he answered her. "What I mean is, if you fell and that gownless evening strap you’re wearing got hitched up, it could be embarrassing, if I’ve bet my cards right."
"Bet them on what?"
He leaned closer to her and placed his hands on her shoulders. Her shoes still dangled from one hand and he was careful when he touched her. He lowered his face to hers and Darcy prepared herself for a kiss. But the kiss never happened. Instead he brushed his lips against her right ear and whispered.
"On whether or not you’re wearing underwear."
Darcy nearly choked, but not from indignation. He nipped at her ear lobe, disturbing a dangling silver earring. She closed her eyes and shivered at the sensation. He seemed intent on kissing a path all the way down her neck from her ear to her shoulder. The lips of her pussy throbbed. Her bottom tightened impulsively. Her nipples ached to be touched. She pressed her body closer to him and did indeed feel the achieved effect of her dress. Not even the dual thud of her sandals hitting the stone sidewalk broke the spell.
"And by the way, I don’t care who walks by. I don’t care who’s watching. I don’t care how long it takes. I’m not going to let you go until you tell me."
