Three years ago Charis was "ruined" in the eyes of society and sent away to the wild of Northumberland. She is back in the company of her aunt in Hampshire because some unknown "lackwit" has decided to ask for her hand in marriage. He must be a lackwit to knowingly want to marry her with such a scandal attached to her name. Charis is headstrong and wants nothing of it; she never regretted her ruination because it was much too fun being ruined. Deciding to head out and find her gyspy friends from Northumberland she never expects to run into a very intriguing man that sends her wanton nature into overdrive.
Compromising Charis is a delightfully erotic and fun historically with a decidedly wanton twist. I was drawn in from page one. Charis is strong-willed and untypically sexual for the time period, and I was instantly drawn to this character. Her thinking is outside the box, and I wasn't sure what to expect from her.
The story is highly entertaining, and the sex is red-hot. The heat index in this one will keep the reader panting for more. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and characterization. I love a historical novel, and this fit the bill perfectly for quick enjoyable read.
I enjoy Ms. Kelly's work, and she has another winner here.

Compromising Charis by Sahara Kelly
Years ago a youthful indiscretion ruined Charis hopes at a respectable marriage. Now her family has decided to marry her off to a ‘lackwit.’ Threatened with the loss of her beloved horses and being sent away to live with a poor cousin, Charis is enraged. She decides to run away and live with her friend Jenny, who is one of the Romany (traveling gypsies). But on her way to find them she meets with a gentleman named St. John Randall. He offers her a ride and she accepts. Charis tell him her tale of woe and they form an easy companionship. Charis is charmed and tempted by his virile and handsome gentleman and makes him a most improper request… to ravish her. But what she doesn’t know is Randall her prospective fiancée come to meet her!
Fun and sexy. This was a lighthearted romp. The plot is a little improbable but who cares? It was entertaining and a super steamy read. Charis is funny and outrageous and Sir John is simply sinful. He is a dashing and lusty mate for Charis. They made a fun great pair. And although Charis has some experience she is still very innocent and St. John is determined to ‘educate’ her and marry her by the end of the story.
For a quick and sexy read this story definitely hits the spot!
